A WOMAN from the Spa presented a cheque for over €1,600 to Kerry Hospice by hosting a coffee morning for friends and family back in September.

Anne Brick has been holding the event — which is part of the annual Kerry Hospice coffee morning — for the past nine years.

Anne was inspired to host it after her friend Nora Kenny passed away in August of 2011 having received palliative care at the hospital.

The event strictly adhered to social distancing guidelines with a marquee erected on the grounds of Anne’s house, kindly sponsored by Colm O’Halloran of Irish Marquees, while Total Cleaning Supplies supplied the hand sanitisers at no cost.

The weather was atrocious on the day but friends and neighbours still turned up to support the cause raising €1,614.

Maura Sullivan of Kerry Hospice thanked Anne for her perseverance in hosting the event despite the elements and all those who contributed.
