Less Than Five Additional COVID Cases Again For Kerry, 393 Reported Nationally This Evening

THERE were less than five new cases of COVID-19 reported for Kerry again this evening.

There were eight additional deaths and 393 new cases of the virus reported nationally. Of the deaths notified today, three occurred in May, two in March and three occurred in February or earlier

The 14 day incidence of new cases for Kerry is just 12.9 per 100,000 people. The next lowest incidence in the country is Wexford at 25.9 per 100,000.

There have been 19 cases reported in Kerry the same period and the rolling five day average of cases is 2.

Kerry is still the county with the lowest incidence of cases in the past 14 days. The national incidence rate over the past 14 days is 129.7.

173 in Dublin, 42 in Cork, 34 in Kildare, 26 in Donegal, 15 in Meath and the remaining 103 cases are spread across 20 other counties.

There have now been 251,474 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland and 4,921 people who died with the virus since the start of the pandemic.

As of 8am today, 131 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 36 are in ICU. There have been 16 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of last Tuesday (4 May) there have been 1,655,866 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Ireland:
• 1,201,373 people have received their first dose
• 454,493 people have received their second dose
