U6/8/10/Girls U10 Boys took part in their final “Go Games” blitz of the summer in John Mitchels on Thursday last.

Dates for your diary: Sunday the 27th U10 blitz in Milltown. Times will be sent via text. The Kerins O’Rahillys Summer Camp will run from the 11th to the 15th of August.

U11 U11s play Na Gaeil on Thursday 24th at 6pm in Killeen.

U16 U16s Played Dr Crokes on Wednesday last in Round 3 of the Co League. They were beaten by a physically stronger Dr Crokes team with the final score Kerins O’Rahillys 3-04 Dr Crokes 2-22. Next game Wednesday 23rd away 7.30 to Gneeveguilla

Senior Football
Junior Town League Strand Rd 1-13 Na Gaeil 1-16
This Junior Town League game was played on a beautiful summers evening on Sunday last. Strand Rd opened the scoring with a point from Cian Sayers in the first minute.

Na Gaeil followed with one of their own in the second. Strand Road dominated this half with fine play throughout including an outstanding save half way through the half form goalie Gary Sugrue.

There were an array of scorers including Timmy O’Sullivan, Diarmuid O’Sullivan and Shane Flavin. Ryan Carroll was once again on target whether from play, one point following an impressive run from Back Jason O’Leary, or from frees or 45’s. The half time score was Strand Rd 0-09 Na Gaeil 0-07.

Timmy O’Sullivan opened Strand Roads scoring in the second half but Na Gaeil took control of the game after this and they got a succession of scores to put them 2 points up half way through the half. Ryan Carroll got one back from a free in the 17th but a quick goal by Na Gaeil in the 18th put 4 between the sides.

Not to be a superbly scored goal by Cian Sayers in the 20th once again narrowed the gap to one. The score was now Strand Rd 1-11 Na Gaeil 1-12 with 10 minutes to go.

Strand Rd went on to score a further 2 both by Ryan Carroll but Na Gaeil came back the stronger and scored a further 4 to leave the final score Strand Rd 1-13 Na Gaeil 1-16. Players worthy of mention were Liam Kissane when introduced, James O’Connor and Johnny Kelly for their defensive roles and link play.

Keanes Supervalu Minor Football Championship Round 3 Kerins O’Rahillys 2-05 Mid Kerry 1-09

The 3rd round of the Minor Football Championship was played in a warm JP O’Sullivan Park in Killorglin on Friday evening last.

Kerins O’Rahillys were first off the mark with a fine point scored in the second minute by Ryan Carroll. It took Mid Kerry 7 minutes to score to level things up. Gearóid Savage scored a fine goal in the 11th minute to put a goal between the sides but a succession of points from Mid Kerry in the 15 and 16th minutes narrowed the gap.

An outstanding save from Jack Shortt in the 17th stopped them from going ahead and the got the equaliser soon after. Another fantastic save from Jack towards the end of the half reprieved us again and Mid Kerry went 1 ahead on the stroke of half time leaving the score Kerins O’Rahillys 1-01 Mid Kerry 0-05.

Kerins O’Rahillys once again opened the scoring in the second half with a point from Cormac Coffey in the first minute to level the sides. Mid Kerry went ahead in the 7th and Ryan Carroll levelled it with a free in the 9th to make it Kerins O’Rahillys 1-03 to Mid Kerry 0-06.

For the next 18 minutes we had possession but couldn’t convert it to scores. Mid Kerry scored 3 points during this time to put them 3 ahead. Then in the 27th minute Pádraig Griffin was pulled down in the square resulting in a Kerins O’Rahillys penalty.

This was blasted in the net by Ryan Carroll to level the sides and a point scored by Ryan shortly after had the Kerins O’Rahillys supporters on their feet. Time was up and Mid Kerry had the ball in stoppage time and got a tap in goal in 31st minute Kerins O’Rahillys won the kick out but Ryan Carroll’s resulting point wasn’t enough and the final score was Kerins O’Rahillys 2-05 Mid Kerry 1-09.
Mouth-Guards

As you may be aware it will be compulsory for all players senior right down to juvenile to wear mouth-guards at training sessions and when playing games.

This comes into effect for seniors from 1st January 2014 and has been in effect for all others since last January. If players fail to wear mouth guards they will not be permitted to participate in football training or matches. No mouthguard No game! Senior Committee will be in contact with you shortly about your 2014 membership. We will be asking that you consider putting your membership on direct debit to help cut down on administration. Please contact any committee member for details.

Ladies Football
U14/U16 U14 and U16 Ladies train every Tuesday at 6.15 in Ballyrickard.
U12 Girls U12 girls train this week and have to play remaining games in North Kerry League. They will be notified by text.

Lotto
The Lotto takes place in Charlie’s Bar every Monday. The Lotto results for Monday the 14th of July were 2, 5, 17 and 21. There was no jackpot winner; the next jackpot will be €6,000. There was 1 match 3 winner. That was Paul Dennison c/o Pat Griffin. The 5 entrants for the December draw were Paul Dennison The Kerries, Hanna Quirke Kerins Park, Jo Murphy c/o Mrs O’Brien, Kieran Hartnett DD and Jimmy and Eileen Moran DD.

To play the Kerins O’Rahillys Lotto, four numbers are selected from 1 to 28. If anybody matches the four numbers selected on the night he/she wins the Jackpot. Match three numbers to win €25. Tickets cost €2 each. The Kerins O’Rahillys Lotto can also be played online at www.korgaa.com

Lotto Sellers; The club needs lotto ticket sellers. It can be worth your while. If you are interested contact any member of the Senior Committee.

Charlie’s Bar
Club Lotto on takes place in the bar every Monday night with a special in house raffle if you are present so why not pop along. Why not treat yourself to lunch in Charlie’s. There’s something to please everyone. Weightwatchers takes place in the Healy Room every Thursday and have now changed to “winter” times. Classes now take place at 9.30am, 12.30 and 5.30pm. The Active Retired Coffee Morning Group meets every Tuesday morning in Charlie’s. Come along and keep in touch with old friends and make new friends. All welcome. “Dance for Fun” has finished for the summer but will make a return in the autumn. Keep an eye on the notes for dates and times. We have many different size function rooms and cater to all types of function. We also have Barbecue facilities so with beautiful summer weather why not consider having a barbecue at Charlies.
