U12 GIRLS:
It was a busy week for our U12 girls who firstly took on Strand Rd last Monday in the North Kerry Div 2 League Final in sun drenched Connolly Park.
This was a local derby and every ball was important in a tight match. Mitchels played with a slight breeze in the first half but scores were hard to come by.
Half time Mitchels led by a goal.
The second half continued a tight affair with both teams giving everything with great skills on display Strand Rd with the breeze edged in front and despite our girls best efforts hitting cross bar and post were unable to get that winning score. Final result Kerins O’Rahillys 2-2 Mitchels 1-3. The girls were naturally dissapointed but they tried as hard as they could and it just was not to be on the day.

North Kerry Shield Final
After Mondays game v Rahillys our girls played Corcha Dhuibhne in the Shield
Final of North Kerry Div 2 on Saturday night back in Annascaul.
In fairness to our players they shook off Mondays game and got stuck in from the start of the match and put on a first class display and took the lead from start to finish winning on a score of 5-5 to 2-5.
Well done to all the players, parents and management of Edward,Tony and Yvonne who have put in a huge effort.

U 14 LADIES:
Our game v Glenflesk goes ahead on Monday May 8th at 7.15 pm in John Mitchels. The players have been training hard over the last few weeks and are
looking forward to the game.

U 16 LADIES:
We played Listowel on Thursday May 4th at 7 p.m. in John Mitchels in Round 3
of the County League.
Mitchels played with he breeze in the first half and found scores to come by
despite creating many chances. We were leading at half time by 2- 7 to 3-1.The second half saw mitchels step up their performance and they turned the tide with 2 penalties and some great effort all over the field in the second half dominating all over the pitch we produced a Final score of Mitchels 6-11 Listowel 4-3.
Well done to all.
Our last game in the League is away to Beale/Ballyduff on May11th. Confirmation of games and training will be sent out by teamer. Training has been going very well with full turnouts and we need everyone at training and matches.

U14 BOYS:
Training on Mondays and Fridays at 7.00 p.m.

MINORS:
Caherslee was the venue, good open honest to God football was the highlight where we just about got our heads in front in a highly entertaining game in blustery conditions last Wednesday. A goal and three points in the last 4 min just saw us through against a never say die NaGaeil team.

We started positive and soon had our opponents on the back foot with lovely attacking football. Points from Mike (free) Cillian and a cracker from distance from Shane Mc Carthy gave us early sway.

However Na Gaeil replied and put our backs under severe pressure until a fine goal and point from Darrian and a lovely score from play from the impressive Cian Holden saw us go in at the break leading 1-05 to 0-02. All our backs held their own along with fierce covering from midfielder Jack Myers kept our opponents to the minimum.

On the resumption we were pegged back for long periods. An early goal and point from NaGaeil left us reeling, but stout defending and never say die approach saw us tack on vital scores, thru Mikey, Ciaran, Cian and another goal from Darrian left us in control. Again Na Gaeil rallied and with five minutes to go led by 1 point.
A brace of minors from Conor O’Brien and a great finish for goal by Shane after good effort from Cian came back off a post left us in front at the final whistle on a score 3-12 to 3-07
Afterwards captain Dominic Craig graciously accepted the trophy on behalf of the team from John Slattery of Town Board.
