INTER-COUNTY HURLING : Well Done to Brendan O’Leary and the Kerry Hurling team on their comprehensive victory over Kildare in Round 3 of the Allianz Hurling played in Newbridge last Sunday. They face Meath in Round, next Sunday @ 12.30pm in Austin Stacks Park as a curtain raiser to the Kerry -v- Galway National Football League game. There was victory also for the Kerry U15 and U16 teams over Kildare and Abbeydorney was well represented with Oisin Maunsell, Jedd Maunsell and Brendáin Walsh on the U15 Panel and Mikey Clifford, Ruairí Donovan and Jack Sheehan part of the U16 Panel. Well Done to all.
MONTHLY DRAW : The Club’s Annual Draw will commence again this month, with the first draw taking place this Sunday, February 25th. It will run over 4 months this year from February to May. Entry is €10 per month with the following prizes each month : 1st Prize – €1000, 2nd Prize – €200, 3rd Prize – €100. This draw is paramount in subsidising the running costs of the club for the year and your support once again would be greatly appreciated. SCÓR SINSEAR : Best of luck to our Quiz Team – Donal Donovan, Mikey Leahy, Aidan Healy and Conor Kearney, who will represent the club at the Scór Sinsear County Final this Saturday, February 24th in Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal, Castleisland.
COLLEGES HURLING : Best of luck to Ronan O’Donovan, Mick Mangan(Trainer) and the IT Tralee Hurling team who will play NUI Maynooth in the Ryan Cup semi-final this Friday afternoon in Mallow.
REFEREEING COURSE : Kerry GAA are running a foundation level course for referees in the coming weeks. Any club member wishing to take part in the course, please contact Club Secretary on (087) 699 3914. Courses will take place on Feb 23rd and March 2nd in Austin Stacks Park, Tralee @ 8pm.
COACHING COURSE : Kerry Co. Board are running a Foundation Level Coaching Course aimed at Coaches involved with teams from U6 to U12, focusing on developing players at this age group. The course will take place on Saturday March 3rd 2018 in St Michael’s College Listowel starting @ 10am. The tutors for the course will be Giles O’Grady & Daniel O’ Donoghue. FIXTURES : The opening game of the season will take place on Friday, 16th March @ 8pm with Abbeydorney playing Ballyduff in Round 1 of the Co. Senior Hurling League.
