Arts Council Funding Of €316,000 For Siamsa Tíre

€365,000 in key strategic funding from the Arts Council has been announced for two key Kerry arts organisations.

Siamsa Tíre in Tralee, home to Ireland’s National Folk Theatre in Tralee Town Park, has been awarded grant funding of €316,000.

Listowel Writers’ Week literary and cultural festival was also awarded a grant of €50,000. In total the Arts Council will invest €130 million in strategic grants to help arts organisations across Ireland recover from the global pandemic in 2021.

Welcoming the funding, Minister for Education and Kerry Fianna Fáil TD Norma Foley said: “This funding will have a hugely positive impact on the creative communities of Tralee and Listowel and will help keep the arts alive during these challenging times.”

The Arts Council has announced that a further €10.7 million in funding will be awarded to arts organisations in the weeks ahead.
