COMMUNITY COVID 19 RESPONSE: Kerry Co Council’s coordinated Covid-19 response, supported by Kerry GAA, continues to provide this wonderful service in these difficult times.

Austin Stacks have now amalgamated our own Club Community Response with this initiative.

Anyone seeking assistance is asked to phone the Kerry COVID-19 Community Helpline for non-emergency and non-medical assistance:  Need a delivery of fuel?  Need a delivery of food/groceries? Need a delivery of medical supplies?  Need other advice or support? Pick up the phone and ring 1800 807 009.

Kerry Co Council will contact the Austin Stacks liason team of  Ciara, Wayne & Elma who will match the call-out to one of our club volunteers who have signed up to help.

To date we have assisted with 19 calls. Thank you to all our Club volunteers for their assistance, the feedback from the public has been extremely positive. Stay safe everyone.

SENIOR FOOTBALL: It was Tim McMahon’s brainchild. And he instituted it to keep us all sane in these trying times.

Since last Wednesday  he has invited all interested to vote for the best 15 to have lined out with The Rock SF Men’s team in Co. Championship football for the past 30 seasons (1990-2019) – voting for one team position each day. So far, up to and including Monday (13th April) we have selected the wearers of jerseys number one to number five.

Michael Hussey won the goalkeeper spot. His colleague Liam Liddy won the right corner back position. We move to the present time for the full back winner – Barry Shanahan.

Then back to the nineties for the No. 4 spot – Pat Slattery, the one and only Sla, who captained that 1994 team to Co. Championship glory. When it came to the No. 5 jersey there was a very tight contest,  but Pa McCarthy, with a whopping 26 appearances with no. 5 on his back, was the winner.

And so the voting continues each day until all 15 are selected.

CLUBHOUSE: Our Bar and Clubhouse remain closed until further notice.

CARDS: Likewise our 45 Card Sessions on Monday and Thursday nights are also on hold.

LOTTO: Our Lotto is also out of action for the time being.
