GAA GAELTACHT SCHOLARSHIPS: A GAA scholarship, worth €170, may be obtained for a club member who might like to spend time improving his/her Irish i nGaeltacht Chorca Dhuibhne during the summer.

Any club member aged between 12 and 18 years and who is attending a postprimary school may apply to our club for this financial contribution. Nota Bene: closing date: Friday 31st March. Apply immediately! Ná cuir do leas ar cairde!

PEIL FAOI 7: The 2023 OUTDOOR football season continues this coming Sunday morning at 11am in Connolly Park. Guímis go mbeidh aimsir mhaith againn.

PEIL FAOI 9/10: (i) OUTDOOR action will commence on Sunday next (April 2nd) at 11am in Connolly Park. (ii) The GoGames series of matches will begin on April 11th (Tuesday). (iii) An U10 team (boys born in 2014) will be chosen to represent The Rock at the Kilmacud Croke Club Tournament on May 7th.

ALL-STARS: The All-Stars got an opportunity to enjoy the fine weather last Sunday whenwe moved outdoors and played on the Astroturf Pitch in CBS.

We did great training as we continue our preparations for our move, in the next few weeks, to the Austin Stack Club pitch. The session was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we had full participation from all our players. They all had great fun!

UNDER 10/11: We’re eagerly looking forward to our trip to Kilmacud Crokes, Dublin, on May 14th. Can’t wait to challenge The Dubs!!

PEIL FAOI 11: (i) Last Sunday’s session was enjoyed by all. Every U11 boy in the greater Rock area is encouraged to come along to Connolly Park on Sunday next at 11am. We pray that the weather’ll be fine! Fáilte roimh chách!

PEIL FAOI 13: (i) Training continues this week at the MTU North Campus and at The Green CBS. We wish to thank MTU, The Green and St Brendans Park FC for making their facilities available for training in recent weeks while Connolly Park is out of action during this spell of very wet weather.

CÚL CAMPS: (i) Our club’ll host a Kerry Cúl Camp (football) in Connolly Park in July (3rd~7th). (ii) A hurling camp will take place in Tralee in August (7th~11th).

IRELAND LIGHTS UP ~ CLUB WALK: Are people still trying to keep up their daily target of 10,000 steps….deich míle coiscéim! People with a high standard/rating will be entered in a worthwhile draw for holiday vouchers. Beireann buan bua!

The 1st item in each category will represent Kerry in the Munster Finals which will be held in Ovens, County Cork, on Saturday April 15th. The All-Ireland Finals are scheduled for Saturday May 6th in the Gleneagle National Events Centre, Killarney.

SCÓR na bPÁISTÍ: This is for primary school pupils…daltaí bunscoile…who’d like to represent their clubs. The county semi-finals will be held on the weekend of 14th/15th/16thApril. The county final will take place on Sunday April 30th. Competitions: a four-person table quiz team, a grúpa ceoil, solo singing, a five-person (boys or girls) ballad group, a figure dance, a set, a recitation/dán/scéal, solo music (one tune only) and solo dancing (3 minutes). If you’d like to have a ‘go’ Carmel Quilter-O’Neill would love to hear from you. Your club needs you!

GAELTACHT SCHOLARSHIP FOR ADULTS: Tá scoláireacht ar fáil do dhaoine fásta chun seans a thabhairt dóibh dul ar chúrsa Gaeilge sa Ghaeltacht. A €200 scholarship is available to adults who’d like to spend time in the Gaeltacht improving his/her Irish. Chun cur isteach ar an scoláireacht, ní mór trí cheist a fhreagairt: (i) cé hé tusa agus cén taithí atá agat ar labhairt na teanga?
