(d) On Saturday September 6th our Under 9 boys will be part of the St Finbarr Club Under 9 Tournament in Cork. They’ll join clubs such as Nemo Rangers, Douglas, the ’Barrs and other big teams from Dublin and Galway. (e) Our training sessions will continue ag 5:45pm on Thursdays in Connolly Park agus ag 11am on Sundays in Caherslee.

BUACHAILLÍ FAOI 12/13: (i) Although the Under 12 are officially on a breakl, the football continues as we have a few boys on the Under 13A team, more lads on the Under 13B team and the Under 11 Town Board Tournament will start very soon. Mar sin, the season’s training sessions will be held every Tuesday and Thursday in Caherslee. Go leor peile do gach duine! (ii) A Round 3 game of the Kelliher’s Mills Under 13 League has been fixed for Thursday 23rd

BUACHAILLÍ FAOI 13/14: Seachtain an-bhroidiúil an-ghnóthach eile ag ár bpeileadóirí! What a busy week! Our Under 14s and 13s had games in the Central and Town Leagues.

(i) The Under 14s, minus a few ‘big guns’, had a comfortable win v Churchill in Division 1 of the Central League and they had a home game on Monday (20th) v Na Gaeil in Round 3. The 14s were captained by Charlie Curran who opened his account for the As with a pointed free. Another scorer of note was Danny Draghici who advanced all the way from the fullback position to also score his first ever point at this level. Great stuff, boys!

(ii) The Under 13s suffered a 0-5 defeat in Cillín v Na Gaeil but not after a rousing second half comeback in which they just came up short, faraor agus ochón!! In the first 25 minutes we conceded 4-0 and were 0-12 down at halftime but a much improved second period had the Gaeil on the back foot!

However, one can’t give a team of that quality such a lead! Ceacht foghlamtha! Lesson learned! Ben Quilter made two top class saves in the game and James Fernane created mayhem in around the square and was unlucky when at least two goal bound shots were blocked and cleared by the Milesian backs and keeper. Both Under 12 stars, Joey Nagle and Armin Heinrick, played superbly and, not to be outdone, Jordan Kissane kicked two lovely points.

(iii) Next on the menu is the Town League with an away match v Churchill on Thursday 23rd.

(iv) Under 13 training will take place at 5.30pm on Tuesday in Connolly Park. (v) Under 13/14 training will be held at 5.30pm on Friday in Connolly Park. (vi) Ní fada uainn Corn an Róis, a leaideanna! (vii) Don’t forget to support our Féile backers: Barry’s Bakery, Terry Butchers, Burger King (Tralee Food Court) The Mile Height, Lee Strand and Garveys (Rock Street).
JOHN EGAN CUP CHAMPS: An Fhoireann a bhuaigh Corn John Egan don dara huair do na Stacaigh: David Oba (captaen), Leon Shalemba, James Fernane, Daniel O’Rourke, Greg Scanlon, Jordan Barry, Conor Myers, Joe Bastible, Tom O’Farrell, Cian Purcell, Charlie Curran, Mervyn Shalemba Luke Chester, Danny Draghici, Craig Teahan, David Burke, Daniel Breen, Eoghan Carroll, Adam Curran, Dara Barry-Walsh.

CEIST: Who is the only GAELIC footballer to have won two John Egan Tournament medals? Freagra i Nótaí (Juveniles) na seachtaine seo caite.

’STAR’: Comhghairdeachas le Ciarán ‘Star’ Mac Donnchaidh agus le foireann Chiarraí. Agus nár dhein sé go maith leis an gcúpla focal nuair a ghlac sé le Corn na Mumhan?
