Austin Stacks20 BLIAIN AG FÁS! 20 BLIAIN I RÉIM?

What a great performance by Barry Shanahan and his team v Ciarraí Láir on Sunday last. A polished team performance, gan aon agó! The cooperative work rate was superb… eager attackers becoming defenders, energetic and unapologetic tackling and crowding of opposing players in possession and the outstanding accurate footpass deliveries to better placed players with nimble fingers and magnetic grasping abilities!

And, of course, accuracy….cruinneas ciceála i dtreo na gcúl! The sideline planners and conducters knew their job….They had professionally scripted the sheet music, made suitable adjustments during the performance and had orchestrated a symphony of delightful harmonies, movements and crescendos that, with the passionate backing of ‘The 16th Man’, ensured that ‘The Bishop’ would be spending the winter at ‘The Top of The Rock’!!

TORADH NA hOIBRE:

The bridging of the 20-year gap is undoubtedly testament to the very many coaching sessions directed by many many dedicated Rock mentors…saothar oibre 20 bliain is breis! We witnessed, in Staid an Ghearaltaigh on Sunday last, a wonderful display of all the good skills of Gaelic football as enthusiasticly taught and willingly learned on the green swarthes of Connolly Park and Cathair Sailí! Coiste na nÓg, take a bow! Sea, beireann buan bua!

NA LAOCHRA MÓRA:

Among the memories from 2nd November (Lá na Marbh) will surely be the leadership of ‘Star’, William’s uplifting entry into the fray, the fruitful runs by ‘Bó’ agus, gan dabht ar domhan, cúílín gleoite Dhara a chuir clabhsúr ar chraobhchluiche 2015!

CIARRAÍ V CORCAIGH:

Let’s now give space to our footballing heroes as they concentrate on and prepare for ‘our’ next outing….dealing with the champions of Cork! With the same work ethic and meticulous preparation, Stephen’s ‘Stacks can ‘rock’ Baile an Chollaigh! Le cúnamh Dé! An Mhumhain…here we come! Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a repeat of last Sunday’s joyful after-match scene….a sea of happy but emotional Amber’n’Black faces i lár na páirce? Ach…ní bhíonn damhs’ gan dua!!
FAOI 13: Our boys did well v Na Gaeil in the final of the Bordcheantar Thrá Lí Under 13 (11/13-a-side) championship on Saturday last, Lá na Naomh Uile, at the John Mitchel Club grounds. Another group on the road to greatness, no doubt!
