SENIORS
Our Senior team made a trip to Gallarus on Saturday evening last to play An Ghaeltacht in Round 10 of the Co. League. Unfortunately on the night the homeside proved too strong for our lads. We now have one Co. League game left against Ardfert at home at a date to be confirmed. This will be a must win game for the team to preserve our Division 3 status for 2016.

ST. KIERANS
Best wishes to St. Kierans senior team when they travel to take on Kilcummin in the Co. Senior Championship on Saturday evening next at 5.00pm.

GOLF CLASSIC
With our Golf Classic due to take place in Beaufort on Saturday next, this is the final call for anyone interested in entering a team or sponsoring a tee or a green. All monies raised will go towards the continued development of our new playing pitch. Please contact Dave Slattery on 0872201042, Geoff Riordan 0866015165 or Bernard Cassidy on 0877973818 if you are interested in supporting this Club fundraiser.

IRISH GREYHOUND DERBY
Congratulations to local greyhound trainer Liam Dowling on ‘Ballymac Matts’ fantastic victory in the Irish Derby held in Shelbourne Park recently. This victory was most deserved for the Dowling family and their team, huge celebrations were held in recognition of this great achievement. All in the Parish wish Liam and his family continued success.

FAOI 16
Our under 16 team took on Na Gael in the Div 2 Coiste Tra-Li Final. Unfortunately our lads come up a little short on the night with four first half goals from the visitors helping them on the road to victory. However a spirited second half performance from our lads made this a good contest. However Na Gael came out on top on a score line of 4-08 to 2-11. Well done lads on a very good season, the highlight of which was a victory over Listowel in the Division 3 Co. League Final.

FAOI 12
Both U12 Ballymac Boys teams play in the Castleisland District finals this Wednesday evening the 30th of Setember at 6.15 in Castleisland. Our Blue team play Knock/Brosna, with our Gold team playing Cordal. All support on the night greatly appreciated. Good luck to both teams.

HANDBALL

Congratulations to Daire Keane on his victory in the Munster 60×30 U-15 Championship. Daire defeated Niall Delaney of Cork in the semi-final on September 18th in Cullen, Co. Cork, on a scoreline of 15-3, 15-5. The Munster final, played in Ballymac on Saturday last against Devlin Courtney (Tipperary) was a tense affair, with Tipp taking the upper hand early on before Daire regained his form to close out the game in the tie-breaker 5-15, 15-10, 15-10.

Daire now progresses to the All-Ireland semi-final in three weeks time. Sinead McKeown was unlucky in the Munster 60×30 U-12 singles final coming up against strong opposition from Tipperary girl Grainne O’Brien, also played in Ballymac.

Ballymac Handball Club was the host the 2015 60×30 Juvenile Munster finals last weekend, with in total 12 finals up for decision, with competitors from all parts of Munster. Thanks to Catherine O’Donoghue, Breda Riordan, Betty Keane, Patricia Lowe, Pat Keane and Danny Riordan for help running matches and hosting the travelling players and spectators.

The Ballymacelligott Handball Club All-Ireland Football final ticket raffle was won by Diarmuid Trant of Tralee. Thanks to all that supported the raffle and the massive effort put in by the ticket sellers. Also thanks to all that supported and volunteered at the recent bag-packing fundraiser in Dunnes Stores, Tralee.

The 40×20 court will re-open this week after some renovations in preparation for the up-coming small alley season. Juvenile training continues as always on Monday nights at 8pm to 9pm. Beginners and new-comers welcome.
