RALLY fans will descend on the roads of North Kerry this weekend for the 25th anniversary of the ‘Kerry Motor Clubs Mini Stages Rally’.

The whole thing kicks off Friday night and runs straight through until late on Sunday.

The main event will take place on Sunday in the North Kerry area between Kilflynn and Listowel.

A full A4 rally programme including maps can be bought from a number of local shops in the North Kerry area for a reasonable price of €10.

The Banna Rally promises to be a great weekend with some of the country’s top drivers and navigators racing in the final round of the West Coast Championship.

Mike Quinn and Tony Healy won the event last year in their, class 14 Ford Escort, and will be back this year to try and reclaim top prize. Hot on their heels will be Killarney man, Rob Duggan and Noel O’Sullivan, in their Mitsubishi Evo 9. Definitely, one to watch.

With over 100 entries before the weekend, this promises to be an action-packed and fun filled weekend. Rally in-car videos will be shown all weekend and there will be a full food menu on Sunday in Banna Beach Hotel.

The motor sport weekend gets going on Friday night in, Banna Beach Hotel, with Ireland’s first ever rally quiz, followed by a disco till late with DJ Ray Stack.

On Saturday night at 9pm, rock band The Broken Half Shafts, will play the ‘O’Neill’s Power Equipment Super Special Stage’ in the Banna Beach Hotel.

The band will be followed by Christy Carey and a disco until late with Dj Ray.

On Sunday, after the rally, it’s back to the Banna Beach Hotel for the rally video, which will show all of the day’s action on the big screens. A new style prize will be awarded at 9pm and DJ Ray will finish and great weekend of action with a disco until late.

“Kerry Motor Club would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the local residents who have allowed this event to take place, the sponsors who without their ongoing support, this rally would not take place,” said Martina Quirke of the Kerry Motor Club.
