BARNARDOS children’s charity is looking for families, community groups and creches in Tralee and Kerry to take part in their annual Big Toddle for Barnardos Ireland’s biggest sponsored walk for under-fives!

2018 will see the little feet of more than 50,000 toddlers – including 1,239 already signed up in Kerry  – walk more than 25,000 miles to raise money for children their own age.

Every cent raised by Kerry’s toddlers will directly support Barnardos’ work with children in its early year’s services who are being lost to homelessness, to poverty and to neglect.

You can register for the Big Toddle now at www.barnardos.ie/bigtoddle.

The Big Toddle, sponsored by Toddlebox.ie, will run for May and June as toddlers from all over the country take-over crèches, gardens and communities in a bid to raise as much funds for Barnardos as possible.

Barnardos is calling on groups and families to join them by running their own sponsored walk for Ireland’s littlest feet as a way to help children in their own community.

Mary Gamble, Barnardos Director of Fundraising said: “Every year I’m amazed by how many little toddlers, crèches and families from Kerry come out and support the children we work with in such a fantastic way. In Barnardos we are seeing the need for this support now more than ever as more and more children from our early year’s services, that is children who need help meeting their developmental milestones to be ready for school, are living in hotels or in overcrowded accommodation without the space they need to live, play and grow. There are thousands more living in poverty and neglect – this is why the Big Toddle is so important.”

Childcare groups and families will receive a free fun pack that includes everything you need to organise your Big Toddle!  Register now at www.barnardos.ie/bigtoddle  or by phoning 1850 222 300.
