It is a chance for parents, school leavers, job seekers, career changers, those who wish to re-skill or up-skill and guidance professionals to visit the Monavalley campus and see the range of professional development courses, traineeships and apprenticeships on offer.
One of those events is to watch the Kerry Preliminary Skills Competition for Beauty Therapy on Tuesday, January 22.
Competitors go head to head to represent Kerry in the All Ireland Beauty Therapy Skills Final in the RDS this March, but this event is open to members of the public 9am-3pm to come and observe the best of the best perform highly skilled electrical and creative treatments non surgical facelifting, spa treatments and fantasy makeup based on the Theme “Japanese Dragons’.
Also, on Thursday, January 24, Kerry ETB Training Centre is hosting an Apprenticeship Open Evening from 4pm to 8pm.
The Training Centre will host students, school leavers, parents and others interested in enrolling in, or enquiring about an apprenticeship.
A “New Apprenticeship” hub will provide opportunities for ETB colleagues to engage with potential apprentices and employers from the Kerry region.
Other events included ‘Tralee From The Clouds’, where visitors can see what it’s like to work as a Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician or Overhead Lines Operative.
Get safely harnessed in and elevated up to 50 metres (160 ft) in the air on a state of the art MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) – courtesy of Height for Hire. Runs 10am until 3pm. Only on Tuesday from 1pm-4pm.
And a one-to-one workshop, where trainee IT Support Technicians mentor attendees on how to Build Your Own PC on Thursday between 4pm-8pm.
There are many other events taking place during the week where instructors and learners will be on hand to chat about give skills demonstrations and answer any career related queries visitors may have.
