Born To Run Club Looks Forward To Mid-Summer 5k, 10k And Half Marathon Event

BORN to Run Tralee running club members are looking forward to hosting a special event this summer.

Fresh from the various events the club’s members have completed over the last number of weeks, which saw members run the streets of Belfast, Boston, Doha, Limerick, Manchester, Westport and much more, the club is now focused on putting on a Mid Summer’s event.

June 25th will see the club host their annual running event in Tralee. This year the event will offer distances of 5k, 10k, & half marathon on the day, making it an event for all, whether you fancy completing a 5k for the first time, or looking get a personal best time. Runners and walkers are welcome in all categories.

The routes are being set by members of the Born to Run organizing committee with all options starting and finishing at the Tralee Bay Wetlands, with routes taking in the beautiful surrounds of Tralee on pathways and country roads. Further route details will be announced on their Facebook page in the coming weeks.

The half marathon will start at 9am, the 10k at 9.30am with the 5k option starting at 9.45am and the course will be well marshalled with numerous hydration stations on route.

The staggered start line will ensure a buzz of activity come the finish line with participants from all events finishing around the same time.

All events will be chip timed, with prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Female & Male in each run. A bespoke finishers medal will be waiting for all once they return to the Wetlands, followed by plenty post-race refreshments.
