Caution Advised On Roads After Cold Conditions Overnight

GARDAI are advising motorists to take care while driving this morning after a very cold night is causing hazardous driving conditions.

There was a collision on the Tralee Bypass near the roundabout at Dromthacker and black ice has been reported on this route so take extra care.

Kerry County Council and An Garda Siochana closed the southern carriageway of the Tralee Bypass from the Listowel Road to the Dromtacker roundabout near the ITT North Campus, to traffic earlier this morning but it has since reopened.

A crash has been dealt with on the Tralee/Fenit Rd (R558) and very icy conditions have been reported on the route, so drive with extreme caution. The N69 between Tarbert and Listowel near Tarmon was also the scene of a collision this morning.

Meanwhile, there will be a Status Yellow wind warning taking effect for Kerry from 11am this morning until 6am on Saturday morning.
