THE final Tralee Chamber Alliance/Tidy Towns Monthly Business Awards for 2016 were presented at the AIB Brexit Breakfast Briefing on Wednesday at the Ballygarry House Hotel.

The awards were presented for October, November and December with three very worthy winners of beautiful paintings from artist John Hurley.

Gillian Wharton, who along with Joan O’Regan judged the awards, commended the winners who were Aspen Grove (October), Craft Makers Centre (November) and Flowers By Ann (December).

“Aspen Grove did a really fantastic job on the Castlemaine Road. They trimmed back the trees and it was a huge undertaking. They are also sympathetic to the natural environment in the area,” said Gillian.

“Craft Makers on Ashe Street are a new business in town but made huge strides already. We chose them for their community spirit. They recently held a street party and brought together many established businesses to get to know each other,” said Gillian.

“For December we chose Flowers By Ann on the North Circular Road, for their Christmas theme which is really beautiful. Lovely Christmas colours, greens and reds,” said Gillian.

Gillian also thanked John Hurley for supplying the awards and said they looked forward to working with a different artist for 2017.

The awards were launched in January by Tralee Chamber Alliance in association with Tralee Tidy Towns Group to help get Tralee into the best possible shape for success.
