Christmas Lights In Tralee To Be Officially Switched On This Sunday

KERRY County Council’s Tralee Municipal District and the Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Terry O’Brien will present ‘When Christmas Comes to Town,’ a 360-degree Virtual Reality Christmas Lights Ceremony to mark the formal turning on of the Christmas Lights this weekend.

While Friday night saw the lights being tested around town, a virtual ceremony will be available at 7.00pm on this Sunday evening on Kerry County Council’s YouTube channel and the social medial platforms of Kerry County Council and the Tralee Chamber Alliance to officially launch Christmas in Tralee.

“Unfortunately, due to the current Level 5 restrictions, the Tralee Municipal District are unable to present their annual Christmas Lights Ceremony this year but the councillors and staff have come up with a Kerry first and a novel way of bringing the celebration and joy of our capital town,” said Mayor O’Brien.

Kerry County Council Tralee Municipal District would like to thank sincerely the many people who made the lights an the switching on ceremony possible.

“It will all be very different for Christmas but that doesn’t mean we can’t light up the town and make the place as festive as possible. I would like to wish all of the people of Tralee and Tralee natives all over the world a very happy and peaceful Christmas season,” said Mayor O’Brien.
