Seniors: Our Senior team will conclude the season with the St Brendan’s Championship Final against Ardfert this weekend.

This is an opportunity for our lads to finish out the season with some silverware and all support would be appreciated. The game is fixed for this Sunday in Churchill with a 2pm throw in time.

Churchill U16:  Churchill U-16s were defeated by Na Gaeil on Sunday last in the St Brendan’s Board area final.

The game was played in the New Pitch in Churchill, the field was in excellent condition despite the recent heavy rain.   In a close and competitive first half, Na Gaeil were leading at the break by 1:6 to 1:3.

Churchill started the second half brightly and got back on level terms, but a stronger Na Gaeil team ran out eventual winners on a final score line 2:11 to 1:6. It was an excellent game played by two very sporting teams.

This young  Churchill team should not be too disappointed with the result, as we were missing some players due to illness.  Best wishes to those players and hope to see you back again next year.  Also fifteen of the panel are underage for U-16 again next year, so the future is bright.

Juvenile Awards: There was a tremendous turnout for the annual Juvenile Awards Night to mark the end of another successful year for our under age teams.

The Chairman, Derek Nolan gave a speech where he thanked all the players, mentors and parents for their contribution throughout the year and acknowledged the continuing improvement that all the players showed over the past 12 months.

We would like to thank our special guests, Fossa and Kerry Minor player David Clifford and Kerry and Austin Stacks’ Laura Rogers who were on hand to give out medals and had words of wisdom for our young players. A big thank you also to Ballyroe Hotel for hosting the event.
