THE Omniplex Cinemas group are set top upgrade their cinema in Tralee soon.
The upgrade will bring the ‘OmniplexMaxx’ experience where cinema goers in town can expect an improvement in the sound and visuals for their night (or day) at the movies.
No fixed date has been set yet, but we can expect it to happen sometime after March as this tweet (below) confirms.
The OmniplexMAXX screen measures 15 metres in ‘Flat’ ratio or over 20 metres in ‘Scope’ ratio. They curve the screen by 5% for optimum ’light gain’ and to achieve a more even spread of light.
The sound is also vastly improved for OmniplexMaxx screenings.
The bad news is, according to the information on OmniplexMax on their website here, is that there is a surcharge on screenings.
Oh well. Let’s hope it’s worth it!
