€41,000 For Tralee MD From Additional Outdoor Infrastructure Fund

Tralee Municipal District is to receive €41,000 as part of  €793,000 allocated for the county in the  ‘Additional Outdoor Infrastructure Fund’ to help ensure a safe outdoor summer in Kerry.

The bulk of the funding (€400,000) will go to Killarney MD, over €194,000 has been allocated to Listowel MD, Castleisland/Corca Dhuibne will get over €84,000, €30,000 will go to Caherciveen, Killorglin will get €25,000 and €15,000 has been allocated for Kenmare.

€16,000 will be provided for seating and bike parking in Tralee Town Park, €17,000 for seating and planting in the Square and €8,000 to update Kerry Safe Destination signage in Tralee MD.

The funding, announced by Minister for Transport, Eamon Ryan T.D will support local authorities in enhancing outdoor urban space and improving walking and cycling infrastructure.

This will assist the safe outdoor re-opening of society as Ireland gradually emerges from current COVID-19 public health restrictions. The full list of allocations for the county can be seen below…
