FORMER Tralee publican, Steve Smith, has raised over €3,000 for Recovery Haven through a darts tournament held at his current venture, The Ploughman’s Bar in Abbeyfeale.

Steve Smith spent around 20 years in Tralee running the Pig N Whistle on Rock Street and The Strand Bar on Strand Street, now The Huddle Bar.

Even though he returned to his native Abbeyfeale 22 years ago back in 1997, Steve still has close ties to Tralee which is exemplified by his decision to host a darts tournament in Abbeyfeale in aid of cancer respite service, Recovery Haven in Killerisk.
