GARDAI in Tralee co-hosted a ‘meet and greet’ event in Tralee last Friday in Cumann Iosaef Community Centre in Balloonagh.

Local Gardaí, IFA branch representatives and representatives from community groups, including Kerry Fire Service, involved in the National Rural Safety Forum, engaged with the local community.

It was an opportunity for the local community to get to know their local Gardaí and local community representatives.

“It’s a national community engagement day at locations all over the country where gardaí, the IFA and Kerry Fire Service are meeting people in the community. It’s an opportunity for people to come in and ask us questions,” said Garda Mary Gardiner.

“We’re giving information about safety and how to secure their property. It’s nice for us to have the opportunity to talk to people outside of the station and give them our time to listen about the problems they have,” she added.
