Gavin James.

FOLLOWING on from a sold-out show in February, Gavin James returns to the INEC Killarney on October 20 for an intimate acoustic over 18’s only, seated show.

Gavin has had an immensely successful couple of years.

He has had platinum Top 5 sales for his debut album, Bitter Pill, in Ireland, where he was awarded Song of The Year for the album’s title track at the Choice Music Prize.

Bitter Pill’s global release followed.  Several of its songs will be familiar to fans of Live At Whelan’s, the intimate live album the singer released at the start of last year as a calling card, but didn’t expect to connect beyond his homeland.

On Bitter Pill, those songs have been given the grand setting and loving attention they deserve. Gavin’s raw delivery remains, as does his powerful falsetto, but now there are strings, choir-like backing vocals and electric instruments that add drama to the up-tempo tracks.

In the spring of 2015, he appeared on U.S. television’s Dancing with the Stars and released a four-track EP titled For You.

Later that year, he was invited to open for  Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith on their respective tours, and released singles including “Bitter Pill” from his full-length studio debut of the same name.

The musician had a stellar 2016 in that he was a ‘Spotify Spotlight Artist of 2016’, appeared on BBC’s the One Show and was included in various ones to watch lists.

Tickets go on sale for this over 18’s fully seated Acoustic performance on Thursday, July 13  and are available from www.inec.ie or www.ticketmaster.ie | Strictly over 18’s
