UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS
We had a great turnout on Sunday and the weather played its part staying dry.  The boys and girls put in a great effort and great fun was had by all.  Weekly the ball skills are visibly improving and huge kudos go to the boys and girls for the efforts they are making.
Training continues next Sunday at 11 and as always, we would love to see new members. Everyone is welcome.

U8/U10 GIRLS
We had a great turnout for training on Sunday morning.  Tanya and John started them off with a quick warm up and then straight into hand passing drills. The girls were very eager to have another game so after another few drills they got straight into the action. We welcomed Caoimhe and Kayla who started with us and also Natalia returned also. It’s great to see new players still coming on board.

The girls have come on so much their skills have defiantly improved and its clear the girls are putting in the practice at home. There were great blocks put in by Tegan Nichole Ally and Ava. Caoimhe K. and Caoimhe N worked so well together in the forward line also. Brooke Emma and Aideen showed great enthusiasm making runs and getting free for the kickouts also Sophie Aine and Amberleigh were also a huge part of the game There was plenty of goals and points for both sides and the accuracy just outstanding. We have a challenge game against Stacks away Sunday morning at 11am so we ask all players to meet in Connolly Park for 10.30. Keep up the good work ladies you all are playing some outstanding football. Please have gumshields and water bottles also

U13s Girls
Mitchel’s u13 girls were beaten at home by a very strong Laune Rangers side in the u13s ladies’ championship this weekend. A convincing win for the travelling side sees them progress to the next round.

Under 14/16 girls
Having narrowly lost to Ballyduff, Mitchel’s u14s travel to Currow this Wednesday evening in search of a win in the north Kerry league. Best of luck to the girls.

UNDER 9 BOYS
A beautiful September morning here on the main field for our u9 boys as they took to the field first of practicing the basics of the hop and solo followed by some light running and core work.
Every boy did their drills with determination and gusto and the improvement in the skills was clear to see. We then split the main pitch into smaller pitches for small sides games where our boys scored with hand pass and kick pass moves. The session ended with a team talk by Mark Mac and a rousing ‘Mitchel’s’ roar by all our boys. Well, done to all and training continues next Wednesday at 530pm
Please note folks that the emphasis is totally on fun so ALL newcomers are welcome to come and join the Mitchel’s football family

SENIOR LADIES
Our second-round championship game was played last Monday at home to Currow, this was a tight game from start to finish with some great scores and defending. Mitchel’s fought to the end and a disallowed goal in the fourth quarter proved costly with Currow hanging on to a single point win, thus was an excellent performance by our team from start to finish well done ladies
Anyone interested in joining should come along and give it a go. If you are 16 and over, you are more than welcome to join. Great way to meet new people and keep active also.

SENIOR MEN
Senior men played the first round of the Intermediate Club championship where they faced Ballydonoghue at 2.30 pm on Sunday 12th away. John Mitchel’s played with a slight breeze in the first half with points from Alan O Donoghue, James Duggan, Michael Walsh and a 45 from Sean Broderick had us 0-7 to 0-5 up at half time, the second half was a low scoring half with every point hard fought for. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts we went down on a full-time score of 0-11 to 0-9 to Ballydonoghue. Hard luck boys! We play Kilcummin next Sunday 19th at 2.30pm in Mitchel’s. All support welcome
