Senior Ladies – Training continues on Thursdays and Sundays. The Donal Curtin Competition fixtures will see us play Southern Gaels B at home on Sunday March 24th. Time TBC.

Minor Team – Our minor boys team played Kenmare at home on Saturday. It was a great effort by this group of committed players. The visitors won by a margin of 3 points. Training continues Mondays and Thursdays.

Juvenile Academy – A fantastic turnout by our boys and girls at the U5s and U7s academy. Keep up the good work and we look forward to welcoming you all back next Sunday at 10.30 AM for the Under 7s and 11.00 AM for the Under 5s.

Under 9 Boys – Our boys trained under the beautiful sunshine on Sunday Morning last!! Once again we had a fantastic attendance and all were raring to go. This week we welcomed John Horgan from our Senior Men’s Team to come in and put our young superstars through their paces.

In this week’s session we practiced our ball skills and ball familiarization along with some fun games and running. Great fun was had by all and we ended the session with 2 highly competitive small sided games ensuring everyone got plenty of football.
Training continues for John Mitchels U9 Boys every Sunday Morning from 10.15am
All New Players/Family’s Welcome.

Under 8s and 10s Girls – We had a great session on Sunday with all the girls working really well and the improvements can be seen every week. Training continues next Sunday at 10-30am on the Astro and all new players are very welcome. Coaches John, Mike , Paula & Dave are always available if any parents have questions. See you all next week!

Under 14 Girls – Action continued on the training pitch this week for our U14 girls and the effort and hard work that is being shown at every session is fantastic to see, so early in the season.

Weather conditions were trying but the girls made great use of our club astro turf pitch and we had two great sessions, primarily focusing on ball skills, kick passing and improving our overall fitness levels.

We are making steady progress and are delighted with the quality of football but more importantly the quality of effort that’s being shown by the girls. Training continues this week on Tuesday evening ,  beginning in the gym with club coach Thomas at 5:45 pm and on Thursday evening at 6:30pm.

Under 12 Girls – A great turnout again this week for the Girls Under 12s. Lots of small, sided games and the girls really enjoyed themselves. Training continues next Sunday at 12 noon.

Under 11 Boys – Another great session in Ballyseedy on Sunday morning. We started off with a warm up followed by some drills where we practiced the core skills of the game.  We then played some small sided games where the boys showed great energy and worked really hard. We are only a few weeks into our season and the boys are showing some real progress. Training continues next Sunday at 11.30.

Under 13 Boys – Our U13 boys returned to training last week and put in 4 very good sessions under the guidance of Aaron and the rest of the coaches. Great to see that the boys had a ball in their hand over the winter break as the skill level was at a very high level.

We continue to train Monday evenings with strength and conditioning at 5.45 followed by a pitch season at 6.30. We train again on the pitch at 6.30 on Friday evening. Both teams are scheduled to play Na Gaeil on Sunday afternoon – times to be confirmed.

Under 15 Boys – Training continues on Monday at 6.30pm and Friday at 7.30pm.

Under 16 Girls and Minors – 30 girls took to the training pitch in Ballyseedy on Monday and Thursday night and the effort and intensity of the session was visible for all to see. The winter training program in the club S&C suite has left the girls in very good aerobic condition and they have hit the ground running.

There is no shortage of effort being displayed in training and the coaches are extremely impressed with the way that the panel is working together. The girls who have made the move from U14 have added immensely to the group dynamic and combined with the natural leadership of our second year U16s we are very excited to see what the year has in store. Training continues on Monday night at 6:45 pm in the S&C suite and on Thursday night at 7pm on the club astro.

Gaelic for Girls – We started our Gaelic for Girls last week with over 30 in attendance. There was a fantastic session facilitated by all involved. This initiative is open to all girls from ages 8 to 12 who have never played football before and would like to give it a try. Come to John Mitchels in Ballyseedy next Wednesday from 3pm to 4pm and give it a go.
