Wednesday 27th April Home to Currow in final County league game.

U16 LADIES:
Our U16 ladies played the second round of the Co League on Thursday last away to Emmetts. This turned out to be a real battle with  both teams well up for the challenge. The mid field area in particular was a hive of activity with Blathnaid Cotter and Grace Myers working well together winning plenty of possession and supplying our forwards with decent ball. Rebecca Poultney and Caitlyn O’Sullivan in the half forward line connected well with full forwards Lisa Costello, Casey O’Donnell and Jade Powell who were scoring at will. The second half was even more intense and this is where our hard work over the last few weeks stood to us.

A magnificent save by our goalie Rebecca Fitzgerald just after the break and great defending by Emma O’Keeffe, Emma Carmody, Niamh O’Shea, Jamie Finnegan and Eva Buckley who seemed to be everywhere there was danger that kept Mitchels in the game. The introduction of Oonagh McGrath, Jasmine Griffin and Jamie-Lee Duggan eventually got  us over the line by a goal.
Well done ladies, big effort again next Tuesday night at training.

John mitchels U8 boys had another good session today on the all weather pitch. We started off with a good warm up session with some running and stretching and went straight into a game. All the kids showed some great skills and determination.
Please note new training time from now on is Sunday’s 10.30 to 12.00 on juvenile pitch until then keep practicing.

U-8 & U-10 LADIES:
Training continues on Sunday next from 10.00 to 11.00 a.m.

U-10 BOYS:
We took part in the Go Games last Wednesday and both teams performed very well with Gerard, Conor, Isaac, and Paddy playing really well and tackling hard, passing well and taking some great scores. James, Shane, Luke and Cody put in great performances and really improved as the games went on and look like they will become valuable players with continued training and games. Well done to all the other players as well it was great to see everyone developing game skills.

Everyone had great fun and we’ll do it all again in Austin Stacks grounds in Connolly Park on the week starting on May 16th – the exact day and time will be advised closer to the event. After that we  have Na Gaeil hosting followed by ourselves so there’s plenty of midweek football on the way in the next few weeks. Well done to everyone who took part and to Kerins O Rahillys for hosting a very well run evening of football.

On Sunday we were training with Robert, Cillian, Mark and Darragh putting in a great effort and working very hard. Nadal, Cathal, Joseph and the rest of the boys trained very hard and during the game at the end showed that they had learned a lot from the games with great tackling passing and scores. Well done to all players and we hope to see everyone again next Sunday.

Training continues on Sunday next from 10.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon.
