AWARDS NIGHT:
We held the annual awards evening last Saturday evening in Chamfers, John Joe Sheehy Road. This event was very well attended and the U12, U14 & U16 boys and girls received medals on the night. Senior players Laurence Bastible and John Horgan presented the medals to the players.
Juvenile Chairman Denis Fitzgerald welcomed everybody to the club and spoke on how the Juvenile section is going from strength to strength and he thanked the Mentors and Players for their work throughout the year and a special mention to the Parents/Guardians of the Juvenile players.
The medals presented on the night were:
U-12 Boys – Castleisland District and Central District
U-12 Girls – North Kerry and Tralee Town
U-14 Boys – Castleisland District
U-14 Ladies – Tralee District
U-16 Boys – Medals were presented to Eight of our U16 Boys – Mikey Kelliher, Padraig White, Alex O’Shea, Conor O’Brien, Graham Hudson, Damien Hurley, Sean Gannon and Shane McCarthy who represented the Tralee District and won the Co Championship
A special presentation was made to five players to acknowledge their participation in representing Kerry in different competitions during 2016:
Mikey Kelliher and Ryan Ward in the U16 North Kerry District who won the Munster Final
Padraig White who represented Kerry at U15 level
Rachel Kilgallen and Ruth Moriarty who represented Kerry at U14 level who won the Munster Final
Finally thanks to our Juvenile players for giving their time and commitment to the John Mitchels Club and we wish them continued success in the forthcoming season.
Thanks also to Malachy and Viva Burg Boherbee who provided the hot food on the night.
