Survey Irish Time

The EBS conducted a survey to find out how long a ‘minute’ actually is in the different counties in Ireland.

WELL, that didn’t take too long did it?

The EBS recently conducted their ‘Big Survey of Irish Time’ in which they interviewed a number of people on the streets of the Republic about their own personal definition of the phrase ‘I’ll be there in a minute’.

Leitrim came in at the shortest with most people there saying that a ‘minute’ usually lasts around 2 minutes 52 seconds while Carlow came in at the longest with 11 minutes and 30 seconds.

The results of the survey show that here in Kerry when people say that they’ll ‘be there in a minute’ or that they’ll get it done in a ‘minute’, we’re actually talking realistically about a wait of 3 minutes, the joint second lowest in the country along with Galway.

We’re a punctual bunch so we are.
