JUVENILE ACADEMY
A beautiful summer’s  morning saw a fantastic turnout at our  academy in Ballyrickard last Sunday. All of the children enjoyed practicing their skills and then putting these skills into action with a game of football for the last half of the training session.

We also welcomed new members to most age groups and it  was lovely to see the other children making them feel welcome and included. It didn’t take long for them all to know each other’s names.
Everyone enjoyed Sunday morning and we look forward to welcoming you all back next week for more fun and games.

We hope those taking part in Cùl Camps with us this week will have fun and the coaches are looking forward to hearing how your week went.

As a club we have worked extremely hard to ensure the safe return to coach the children. Parents and guardians also play a big part to ensure they are compliant themselves, by completing the eLearning module & a health questionnaire for each child attending training.

There are 2 hand sanitisation stations located by the prefabs. Everyone should use these on entering the grounds and before leaving.

Thanks as always to our incredible team of coaches,  without you  it would not be possible to hold our academy each Sunday.
Looking forward to seeing everyone next Sunday.

Many thanks to Danny Cahill , his coaches and his girls for hosting our first challenge match of 2020. We travelled back to J.P. O’ Sullivan Park in Killorglin last Sunday.

Kerins O Rahillys  v    Na Gaeil

We bagan our shortened county league campaign Sunday evening at home against Na Gael. Our visitors got of to a strong start and we found ourselves behind early on. As the half wore on we began to find our feet and through Daniel McCarthy and Nick lacey we kept in touch on the score board. We finished the half strongly with Conor Cronin and Ryan Onyekwere having a huge impact around midfield.

Unfortinuately we began the second half similar to the first and our opponents dominated the early preceedings and kicked some very good scores leaving us a mountain to climb in the final quarter.

After a brief water break we one again took controll of the game and played some excellent football. We dominated position and linked up for some very good scored. To the fore in this period was Nick Lacey, Ryan Onyekwere and Cillian McGrath. Unfortinuately we had left ourselves with too much and in the end ran out of time. Best on the Day for Kerins O’Rahillys were Ryan Onyekwere, Nick Lacey and Cillian McGrath.

Our B team were also in action and put on a great display. The boys can be very proud of the effort they put in especially as we had a few u10s playing on the day.

Our next game is away to An Gaeltacht next Sunday evening at 6pm. The boys have a break from training on Tuesday but back in action again Thursday evening in Ballyrickard from 6.15 to 7.30.
