Strictly Club Dancing:
The rehearsals are continuing with Jackie ( O’Mahony) applying the finishing touches to all the acts; excitement is continuing to build as we get closer to the night of the 16th and the committee are also busy finalising arrangements for the big night.

Tickets are on sale from the club house or at Morans Foodstore on Strand Road; participants also have tickets for sale so no need to get caught short. You can vote in advance for your favourites by purchasing cards from any of the participants and also on line this year by visiting our website ( kerinsorahillys.com) and following the instructions there in – all payments are secured via myclubfinances.com, the company who facilitate our weekly lotto.

A substantial number of votes have already been purchased via this avenue by the Strand Road diaspora.

Seniors:
The inclement weather was the big winner last week with all on field activity being cancelled due to unplayable pitches.

The county league kicks off next week end and for the first time in a while, we will be fielding two teams with our senior team continuing to partake in County League Division 1 and our 2nd team participating in Division 5, Group A.

Our opening game in Division 1 sees us make the long journey south to Templenoe to take on the locals who have risen rapidly through the ranks, given that it was not all that long ago that they were a division 5 side.

The emergence of players like Adrian & Killian Spillane, twins Brian & Gavin Crowley, Tadgh Morley , Patrick Clifford & Stephen O’Sullivan have made them a force to be reckoned with and there will be no easy points on offer irrespective of their line out taking into account their Kerry contingent which will, like ourselves, see them field a somewhat depleted side.

Nevertheless, Micheál Quirke and his management team have been working hard since the beginning of the year and a win on the road is not ruled out – the game is timed for a 12.30 start.

Our division 5 side will make a shorter journey to Scartaglin in their opening game; bainisteoir Eugene McGrath will be able to select from a panel of youth and experience and though a tough initial outing, the points could well return to Strand Road. Throw in is again @ 12.30

Minors:
All minor games were cancelled last week end due to the weather.

Junior Blues:

This year once again we will be holding a number of events for the community and club members.

Lotto:
There was no winning ticket in last week’s lotto draw where the winning numbers drawn were: 4, 26, 27 & 29 – nobody matched 3 numbers, so next week’s jackpot will be for a prize of €3,000.

The following names were selected for the special December draw: Ned Browne, Trisha Moran, Margaret Duffy, Denis Brosnan & Daragh c/o Nan, the shop.

The weekly lotto us utilised to keep the club ” ticking over” and is there fore a most important fund raiser. Tickets can be purchased from the kiosk in the club house or on line – €2 each, 3 for €5.
