Kerins O’Rahillys 10K 1916 Commemorative Run
With just under a week to go until the Kerins O’Rahillys club hold their 1916 commemorative 10K run we are delighted to announce that legendary marathon runner and native Tralee man John Griffin will be our official race starter for our 10K.
John famously won back to back Dublin city marathons in 1988 and 1989. He has many honours under his belt and also many miles. We are very honoured to have him on the day.

Excitement is building in Tralee and beyond as this is the first serious run of the 2016 season and gets every runners year off to a great start. To top this off this year there will be a special one off “Michael O’Rahilly commemorative medal for every finisher.
This is a truly unique medal and worth having. The event is open to runners and walkers. There is also a team event open to teams of 4 with the first 3 to score for their team. The winners of the team event will be presented with the John Dowling Perpetual Trophy. Registration is now open on the Run the Kingdom website. You can also register on Friday evenings from 6-7pm, number collection and registration on Saturday 30th 2-8pm and Sunday 31st 8-9am. The run will commence on Sunday 31st at 10am at the club and will take in the surrounding areas.
The route covers at least 7K of the Valentines Run so is great preparation for it. There will be refreshments and entertainment afterwards in the club. We would advise getting registered for this event as places are filling fast.
Senior Football
Our Senior season will get started on St Valentines day with their first game it the Coiste Trá Lí League. It will be away to Ballymac at 12.30.
Minor Football
The minor season gets started on Saturday next when the Coiste Trá Lí Minor League throws in. The fixtures as follows. Division 1
Round 1 Saturday 31-01-2016 3.30pm Kerins O’Rahillys v Austin Stacks and is fixed for Connolly Park but is subject to change and might be played in Healy Park Ballyrickard. Changes will be notified on Facebook and Twitter.
Round 2 Saturday 6-02 \2016 3.30pm Kerins O’Rahillys v Ballymac.
Round 3 Saturday 13-02-2016 4.00pm Kerins O’Rahillys v Na Gaeil.
The Minor Co League starts on Saturday February 20th. We will be in Division 1 along with Dr Crokes, Firies, Gneeveguilla, Austin Stacks and Listowel Emmets. We would like to wish new Minor Manager Declan Quill and his team the very best of luck for the year ahead.
Date for your diaries
Keep Saturday the 5th of March free because it is the date pencilled in for the Club social. It will be held in the newly refurbished Fels Point hotel. Details to follow in the coming weeks.
Juvenile News
Training continues on Wednesday evenings for U12s, U14s and U16s. See Facebook for details.
Ladies News
U12 girls are back training this Friday the 29th in Cumman Iosef. Times will be sent via text and posted on Facebook.

Best wishes to Barry John Keane, David Moran, Tommy Walsh and the Kerry team in their first outing in the National League on Saturday next when they face Dublin in Croke Park.
Congratulations
Congratulations to St Marys on reaching the Intermediate All-Ireland final and to Templenoe on reaching the Junior All-Ireland. It is great to see two Kerry clubs in Croke Park this early in the year.
Congratulations to neighbouring town team John Mitchels on winning their hard fought play-off battle with Spa to qualify for Division 1 football this year. Well done.
Congratulations to Anne Kerins and Tom Ferriter who won the Castlegregory Golf Club Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend. Anne is married to club secretary Haulie Kerins. Well done to them.
Coaching and Development
With ever increasing playing numbers at all ages in the Club we are always anxious to ensure that every player is given the best possible coaching in the skills of the game.
We are extremely grateful for the hard work and commitment of our members who volunteer to coach and assist in any way with each team. As in previous years we are looking for new people to get involved. We have had a very productive 2015 and look forward to the same in 2016.
This would not be possible without our volunteers. Bearing this in mind and planning for the season ahead we would like to invite anyone who would be interested in getting involved in any team from Saturday Mornings to Minors to get in touch. “Many hands make light work”.

Lotto
The Lotto takes place in Charlie’s Bar every Monday. The Lotto results for Monday 18th January were 4, 14, 15 and 23. There was no jackpot winner. The next jackpot will be €2,700. There was 1 match 3 winner.

The 5 people drawn for the December 2016 draw were Maurice Dowling Mounthawk DD, John O’Donnell Kerries East DD, Finbarr Courtney Castleisland DD, Francis Kelliher Dublin 16 DD and Hazel Nix The Kerries DD. To play the Kerins O’Rahillys Lotto, four numbers are selected from 1 to 28. If anybody matches the four numbers selected on the night he/she wins the Jackpot.

Yoga Classes
There are yoga classes in the club on Thursday nights from 7.30 to 9pm. The class consists of warm up, stretching, workout, toning, stress release and relaxation. Phone or text Mike at 0872732591 for further details.
Pilates Classes
Do you want to improve your flexibility? Do you suffer from back, neck or hip pain? Do you want to improve your strength and tone up? Well look no further “Pilates Classes” have arrived at Kerins O’Rahillys. Mondays 7-8 are for men only, Fitness and Flexibility is at 8.15 to 9.15. Tuesday evening Pregnancy classes at 6pm-6.45 and Pilates for Fitness at 7pm-8. Contact Izabela on 087 765 0125 for further details.
Weightwatchers
Weightwatchers classes take place in the Healy Room at the Kerins O’Rahillys clubhouse every Thursday. The times are times are 9.30am and 5.45pm. Contact Helen for details on 0879504232. All welcome.
Charlie’s Bar
Club Lotto on takes place in the bar every Monday night with a special in house raffle if you are present so why not pop along. Why not treat yourself to lunch in Charlie’s. There’s something to please everyone. The Active Retired Coffee Morning Group meets every Tuesday morning in Charlie’s. Come along and keep in touch with old friends and make new friends. All welcome. “Dance for Fun” is on Wednesday nights. This has grown in popularity and is a very entertaining night out, a great way to stay fit, learn to dance and to make new friends. Come along and check it out. We have many different size function rooms and cater to all types of functions. Contact Tom or Eileen or any member of staff at 7124956 if you have any queries.
