THE Kerry Islamic Outreach Society (KIOS) have expressed their delight at the generosity of the people of Tralee to their recent children’s clothes campaign.
On Saturday we reported that the KIOS were running a charity campaign to help collect clothes for children in Syria and Palestine.
The collection was part of a drive that will send clothes to children in the countries who are suffering through an extreme winter.
Well the campaign has been a tremendous success and the amount of clothes that have been donated and collected has double on last year.
Rizwan Khan, Chairman of the KIOS and an organizer behind the campaign said he was delighted and shocked by the numbers of donations.
He informed us that over 100 bags of clothes had been donated this year, a figure that is double what they received last year.
If this doesn’t sound like a lot, take a look at the photos and see for yourself!
Donations closed for the KIOS on Saturday 14 but people can donate directly to Human Appeal Ireland if they want.
Another donation campaign for clothes is possibly expected to start up again in March.
