YOU may have seen a photo that went viral on social media over the last day or so, showing a road marking gaffe purporting to have occurred in Killorglin, that indicates drivers to ‘turn left’ when an arrow is pointing right.
As you can imagine, this photo was greeted with glee by those who only love to jump on some negative stereotypes attached to people from Kerry. But the photo wasn’t taken in Kerry at all!

Not Killorglin as is being claimed by many on Twitter and Facebook. And yes, everyone is entitled to a bad day!! https://t.co/xNq38Iha6A

Kerry County Council were quick to point out that the photo was taken in the UK by Kent Police and put up on Kent Police social media accounts.
Some opportunistic rascals then shared the photo with the lie that the road signage gaffe occurred in Killorglin.
Kerry County Council notified Joe.ie who carried the story on the supposed Killorglin photo, Joe.ie then promptly deleted the ‘story’ from their website.
It was also shared by Dublin Q102, where it still remains up on their Facebook page and has been shared almost 1,000 times. The Dublin radio station, of course, was only delighted in taking the mick out of their culchie cousins.
Although this has been clearly uncovered as a hoax you get the feeling this won’t be the last we’ll see of it.
