Tralee Garda Station Dealt With A 22% Increase In Burglaries In 2015

LAST year there were almost double the amount of burglaries reported to gardai in Tralee than to Killarney station according data in a new infographic by PhoneWatch Ireland.

In 2015, there were 141 burglaries in Tralee which was by far the most in the county.

The figure amounts to a 22% increase on the previous year’s tally.

Killarney station (72) was the next highest, seeing an annual rise of 7%.

Sneem was the only station in the county that recorded no burglaries in 12 months.

In total there were 391 burglaries in Kerry from January to December 2015 of last year.

Looking at similar sized towns around the country, Tralee had less burglaries than Ennis (158) and Kilkenny (198) and more than Letterkenny (111).
