AS part of the Summer Stars Reading Adventure, Kerry Library has launched their ‘Story Trail’, an exciting outdoor reading adventure in Tralee Town Park for the month of July.

Kerry Library ‘Story Trail’ is an outside story walk that everyone can enjoy.

On the trail a book is delivered in an exhibition format that you can follow, from beginning to end, as you walk with your family or friends.

For the ‘Story Trail’ Kerry Library is working with Irish author and illustrator Dolores Keaveney and her wonderful book ‘Dee the Bee’.

‘Dee the Bee’ by Dolores Keaveney explores the role of bees in the pollination process.

Young readers will see that many of their favourite fruits, vegetables and plants depend on the hard work of bees as they walk along the trail which brings them from the playground to the wonderful Tralee Community Garden and the pollinator area in the town park.

As well as learning all about the work of the bee, Kerry Library hopes that the ‘Story Trail’ will promote outdoor reading beyond the confines of library spaces and  encourage intergenerational engagement where parents, children, grandparents, siblings and friends can engage together with a book.

In addition to enjoying the story, readers can also get involved by sharing their photos from the ‘Story Trail’ with Kerry Library on social media and be entered into a draw for a special Kerry Library prize pack.

This initiative is part of the Kerry County Council Keep Well campaign. The KEEP WELL campaign is brought to you with thanks to Healthy Ireland an initiative of the Government of Ireland with funding from the Healthy Ireland Fund and the Sláintecare fund delivered by Pobal’.
