A TEAM from a local national school performed brilliantly at the annual National Credit Union Schools Quiz Finals earlier this month.

The four sixth class pupils from Listellick NS, Moira Butler, Joseph Field, David Ahern and Sophie Brick, travelled to the RDS in Dublin on Sunday, April 2, and were just pipped into second place in the national final where 42 teams from all over the country took part.

Teacher Susan Wrenn has been mentoring the team throughout the rounds, where they excelled in the route to the final.

“In the first local round they came first and won again in the Chapter 23 round,” she said. They got 61 points in the final with the winners getting 62. They did themselves and the school so proud and they’re winners in our eyes,” she said.

“They put in such hard work all along which will stand to them in the future,” said Susan. Who knows, maybe we’ll see them on the ‘Ireland’s Smartest’ TV show in a few years?
