MEDIA outlets are reporting that a woman is being treated for respiratory issues and is believed to be receiving anti-viral medication in University Hospital Kerry for symptoms similar to the Coronavirus.
Reports say the woman is in isolation as a precaution and may have been in contact with people who travelled to China recently.
The woman was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday evening and tests are being carried out to identify the nature of the flu-like illness. The HSE and the Department of Health say they are not providing information about individual cases or activations of preparedness plans other than confirmed cases.
