Mid Kerry Senior Football League: Group A, Round 1 Result

A winning start to the 2023 season for our Senior side and their management team spearheaded by Mark Bourke on Sunday afternoon at the Paddy Burke Memorial Park in Milltown in front of a sizeable crowd as Milltown/Castlemaine ran out nine point winners (0-17 to 0-08) over Laune Rangers ‘B’ in the Mid Kerry Senior Football League.

Playing with wind advantage in the opening half, Milltown/Castlemaine led 0-8 to 0-4 at half time with some fine points being scored by the likes of Sean Hogan, Jonathan O’Sullivan and Eanna O’Connor who were in top form throughout the contest. Gavin Horan also seen a goal chance well saved. Laune Rangers kept in touch at the other end with Gavin O’Shea and Matthew Leslie being their main marksmen.

In the second half Milltown/Castlemaine stepped it up and had a ten point lead to show for their hard work after 55 minutes at 0-16 to 0-06 with Eanna O’Connor giving a fantastic display of placed ball kicking into the breeze. The defence also did a good job of limiting the visitors’ scoring opportunities.
