Round 1 of U 17 Club 9 a side Competition v Churchill will be played on May 23rd.

The venue is Firies.

Under 14’s:

It was one of those evenings where you couldn’t choose a stand out player from a match, as every member of the panel put in a gigantic effort that made for a great game on a fine sunny evening in Milltown.

Na Gael led at half time after some impressive scores in the first half but our home side stuck some fine scores of their own to stay with their opponents and this continued into the second period.

Both teams exchanged scores early in the second half as Na Gael moved forward Milltown/Castlemaine would come right back at them. In an exciting and pulsating half of football Milltown then raised the green flag to come within a point of their opponents. The game was balanced on a knife edge with only a few minutes left. Na Gael would push on however and see the game out to progress to the Division 3 Final.

Final score: Milltown/Castlemaine 2-12 V 3-18 Na Gael. Well done to both sets of teams, coaches and officials on a great game. It wasn’t to be on the night but the Milltown/Castlemaine U14 panel put in a performance they should be proud of. Congratulations to Na Gael and the very best of luck to them in the final. A big thank you to our Coiste Na nÓg sponsors Foley’s Spar and Burke’s Butchers.(Report courtesy of Danny McClure)

Our Milltown/Castlemaine Teams opponents are spread across the county. To the South Sneem/Derrynane/Templenoe & Dromid/Waterville lie in wait. While in North Kerry we will tackle St Senans and Asdee/Ballydonoghue/Ballylongford. Just outside Killarney Spa make up the group of 6 teams in Division 6 of the County Football League.

Juvenile Coaches

We are encouraging parents / budding coaches to please get in contact with us if you are able to help out with coaching our juvenile teams. One particular age group that currently needs more coaches is the U6 boys. We have many fantastic coaches, whom we wish to thank for their time and commitment to training. However due to work commitments, family commitments and various other reasons, some coaches cannot make it every week. If you can help out in our already very structured and organised coaching sessions, be it either on a regular basis or part time basis, please make contact with our coaching officer Ian Twiss on +353 (87) 252 1053. You will most certainly get great pride and enjoyment in seeing our little footballers progress.
