More Burglaries And Thefts Reported In Caherslee Area

GARDAI in Tralee have received more reports of burglaries and thefts in the Caherslee area in the past week.

It follows on from reports of break-ins and thefts to cars and houses in the area in the previous week.

On Wednesday, September 15, at approximately 1.30am there was a break-in at the house in Westcourt, Caherslee. The owner of the house was awoken by a barking dog and when he went to investigated he discovered a male leaving the property.

At about 3.55am that same night in Ard Carraig, Caherslee, a male entered a house and was confronted by the occupant of the house who called the gardai. A suspect was apprehended a short time later by Gardaí.

Also, on Wednesday, September 15, at about 3am, a house was broken into in the Cahermoneen area. The burglar was disturbed by the property owner and left the scene.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area during the early hours off the morning in the Caherslee and Cahermoneen areas to contact Tralee Garda Station on 066-7102300.

Gardai are appealing to homeowners to be vigilant, lock windows and doors and also make sure their vehicles are locked.

Meanwhile, between Sunday, September 10 at 12pm and Thursday, September 16, at 2.30pm,  home heating oil was taken from a tank at the rear of a house in Ard Carraig. Gardaí are again asking the public if they saw anything suspicious to contact them.
