Graduation is a special occasion for the graduates themselves, their families and friends. Due to the numbers graduating both this year and last year, the ceremonies have been extended over a two-day period as opposed to the normal one-day event.

It’s also an economic boost to hotels, restaurants and bars in the town, as many students stay around to celebrate their academic achievements with family and friends.

President of the Institute, Dr. Oliver Murphy paid tribute to all of the graduates and their families for what they have achieved, whilst wishing all of those being conferred well in their future endeavours. “I would like to congratulate all of our graduates, their families and friends. Graduation is a day to be cherished. It marks the beginning of a new chapter in our graduates’ lives. Employment opportunities are excellent, with a recent survey showing that 82% of our graduates securing work or pursuing further education opportunities such as Masters of PhDs within 6 months of graduating.”

The ITT 2016 graduation sees the first cohort of graduates from 2 Special Purpose Awards and 6 Degree programmes delivered at the Institute.

The busy calendar of the Institute continues on Thursday, November 10 with an Information Evening for Parents of Leaving Certificate students or anyone considering a college application in 2017.  Talks start at 7.30pm at the North Campus and you can register your attendance by calling 066 7191704.

Friday November 11 is the IT Tralee Open Day which takes place from 9.30 am to 1.30pm. This event is open to all those considering their third level options for September 2017. Over 1,200 people are expected to attend and further details are available on the ITT website at www.ittralee.ie.
