AND the winner is…New York!
The new Rose of Tralee is Róisín Wiley from the Big Apple. She was announced just moments ago on the stage at the Kerry Sports Academy by hosts Daithi Ó Sé and Kathryn Thomas.
The 27 year old lives in Manhattan and is VP of National Sales at a consumer marketing company, managing a territory of OTC and Pharmaceutical accounts.
Her parents, Eddie and Majella, were born and raised in Co. Limerick. Her mom is from Templeglantine, and dad is from Kilmallock. They emigrated to NYC in their 20s and settled in Westchester, NY.
This is the fifth win for New York. Previous winners from the Big Apple were Maggie Flaherty in 1974, Marie Soden in 1976, Roisin Egenton in 2000, and Lisa Murtagh in 2007.
