THE Kerry Rose, Kelsey Lang McCarthy, finally got her chance to take the stage at the Rose of Tralee selection at the Kerry Sports Academy tonight.

The 22 year old from Cahersiveen was the last of the 32 Roses interviewed onstage and she looked confident and composed as she chatted with the co-host Kathryn Thomas.

Kelsey received a fantastic cheer as she came out on the stage and proceeded to tell Kathryn how she was enjoying her time as Kerry Rose.

The student who is entering her final year of studying Podiatric Medicine in the National University of Galway also spoke about her ambition to work as a paramedic in the ambulance service.

She spoke about her mom Linda and the support and drive she has given Kelsey over the years.

Finally, the accomplished singer and musician wowed the crowd with a fantastic version of Amy McDonald’s ‘Mr Rock N Roll’. Well done Kelsey!
