DartsMike McCarthy brings you all the news from the Kerry darts scene…

All roads led to Causeway on Sunday for the 5th annual Declan Mulvhill memorial at the Stretford end bar.

A large crowd with 24 teams saw Tom Biganne and Dave Stack recapture their crown against a gallant family affair with Dermot and Edmund Kelleher.

Well done to all involved in this event and to Tom and Dave the way these guys are winning trophies they could sell them.

Tralee and District league

Section 1

The Railway Bar Lixnaw turned the tables on high flying McElligotts of Ardfert 4-3 in Ardfert. This win really put Lixnaw in the hunt and will be a force in the weeks to come.

The Huddle Bar overcame the Slieve Mish 4-3 on Monday night in Strand Road this was a tense affair and could have gone either way.

Stretford End Causeway travelled to Toomeys Tavern Abbeydorney on Thursday night and came away with a 6-1 win.

Missed doubles and chances not taken will haunt Abbeydorney after this one but Causeway rock on and are playing well right now.

Section 2

Brosnan’s Bar Moyvane travelled to the Huddle on Friday night and went down 4-3 to a final game winner by the Huddle’s Gary Coffey.

Really good night of darts this was with both teams throwing really well.

The Munster Bar had a home victory also by 4-3 and we are seeing, as the weeks go on, how close this section is going to be.

Parker’s versus Stretford End Causeway was rescheduled and will be played later this week.

In the weekly double pot round robin, Liam Sullivan took the spoils in the Huddle Bar on Monday night beating Michael McCarthy in the final.

Liam is a really good young player coming through this year with The Slieve Mish.

The weekly round robin double pot in the Slieve Mish was won by Patrick Mullins beating Anthony O’Connor.

For Patrick, this was only half the story of his night. In an earlier round he came in on 146 after 6 darts.

He hit the treble 20 and bullseye to leave double 18 which he wired and took it out next throw for a 10 dart 401. This is one I will attend again very well run tourney. Well done all involved.
