THERE are reports that the Minister of Justice favours the Island Of Geese site as the location for a new Courthouse in Tralee.

Minister Charlie Flanagan visited the Courthouse earlier this month and was shocked at the state of the building.

However, the Council will ultimately decide what the Island of Geese site will be used for and not the Government or Courts Service. A masterplan for the site is set to come before councillors in the coming months.

The demolition and clearing of the site will be completed by July. The site will then be topsoiled and have a pathway running through the middle of it.

The Minister of Justice is dead right – it’s a no brainer & the old historical courthouse could become a ROSE OF TRALEE MUSEUM a win – win for Tralee town.
