A TRALEE councillor has asked Kerry County Council to talk to a company who are interested in bringing an online car hire service to town.
Go Car is a Dublin-based company who operate a service in the same way as DublinBikes, where people can book a car by the hour online, take it away using a swipe card to open the doors and then return it to its base when they are finished (see video below).

Fine Gael Cllr Jim Finucane said he had contacted the company who would be willing to look at locating two cars in Tralee and two in Killarney, on the basis that they are exempt from parking tickets.
Cllr Finucane said a tourist or a local person could go online and hire the car and not have to worry about parking fines. In Dublin, Go Cars can be parked in any Dublin City Council spaces for free.
