BALLYGARRY House Hotel was buzzing on Saturday night as a special lady celebrated a milestone birthday.
Mary O’Brien is well-known for her herculean efforts in Tralee Tidy Towns, but she can add ace party planner to her list of talents now.
Mary invited 140 guests to a dinner to celebrate her 90th birthday and organised the whole affair over the past nine months with the help of daughters Julie and Maureen.
Mary Lynch, originally from Cullen in north Cork, married ESB worker Jeremiah O’Brien (RIP) from Strand Road many moons ago. They had ten children Michael, Tommy, Dermot, Paudie, Tim, Donal (RIP) and two sets of twins Brendan and Maureen and Julie and Terry.

Mary’s relations from north Cork were at the party along with people from Tralee and beyond, including a few from the USA.
They enjoyed a drinks reception followed by a delicious dinner and entertainment and were joined by many more guests as the night wore on.
