FINALLY, the boys and girls got their day out!

After months of waiting, Caherleaheen NS second class pupils and their families gathered at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Rathass for the First Holy Communion ceremony.

The next number of weeks will see First Holy Communions take place all over the county so those long-booked bouncy castles will finally see some action and hotels and restaurants will see much-needed business.

The weather stayed dry yesterday morning so the 14 children from Caherleaheen making their communion could enjoy some time with their friends outside afterwards before heading off for private celebrations with their families. Scroll down for photos…
