Kerry 0-16
Cork 1-12
THE KERRY minors will get a chance to defend their Munster crown after they beat the old enemy in a tight and intense battle in Austin Stack Park.
In the ninth minute of extra time, Spa’s Micheal Foley became the hero when he edged Kerry a point in front, when it seemed the game was heading for a draw after Cork’s Daniel O Duinnin, levelled up the game when he hit the net just minutes before.

The game had finished level in normal time, 0-11 points apiece. The sides had to negotiate a particularly stiff breeze into what Weeshie Fogarty has recently dubbed ‘the Aldi end’.
The first half was the most productive period of the match with Kerry leading at the break 0-9 to 0-7.
At the end of normal time, with the wind against them, it looked as though Jack O’Connor’s side were on the racks after losing a three point lead.
Kerry held out however and forced extra-time, where they were just about the better side in both halves. Cork can feel aggrieved as they put up a fantastic performance in a game where, in truth, a draw may have been a fair result.
Austin Stacks’ Jack Morgan gave a fine display at corner back and Na Gaeil’s Andrew Barry came on as sub in extra time along with Ardfert’s Brendan Barrett.
A player who stood out head and shoulders above everyone else was Dingle’s Mark O’Connor who gave an exhibition of fielding and midfield play.
Kerry now look ahead to a Munster Final on July 5, Tipperary, will be their opponents.
